Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Waves Farewell to Le Mans After Three Thrilling Campaigns

The dream has come to an end, and the independent American racing team, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, will not be participating in Le Mans next year. The team’s founder has pointed to a lack of financial resources as the primary reason for this decision.

The Glickenhaus 007 made its debut in the World Endurance Championship in 2021, representing one of the inaugural contenders in the FIA’s Hypercar class. However, according to Cameron Glickenhaus, the team’s founder, their absence is due to financial constraints. He stated, ‘We won’t be entering – it doesn’t align with our objectives.

To maintain competitiveness, we would require an evolved version of the car and field two of them, which is not feasible for a privateer. The only viable options would be securing sponsorship or collaborating with a customer interested in running our car in the program.

The Glickenhaus

As the iconic endurance event grows more competitive, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus finds itself up against formidable rivals, including Ferrari, Porsche, and a host of other prominent manufacturers. Additionally, it’s been rumored that other heavyweight brands like Lamborghini and Aston Martin will soon enter the fray.

Pride in Achievements

In light of this escalating competition, Glickenhaus reflects on the journey and takes pride in the remarkable achievements his small-sized team has secured in the world of motorsport. During their debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus valiantly clinched the fourth position following an intense battle with Alpine. The subsequent year marked an even greater triumph as they graced the podium, sealing a third-place finish.

We were a formidable force and achieved remarkable results as a privateer,” Glickenhaus proudly stated. “Our 2022 podium finish and this year’s triumph over formidable competitors like Porsche and Peugeot, securing the sixth and seventh positions, represent a pinnacle of our journey. We played a vital role in the championship when they needed us the most.”

Nürburgring Beckons

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus isn’t concluding its racing endeavors entirely. The team is gearing up to continue its participation in the Nürburgring 24 Hour race, competing in the SP-X class. However, in this series, they will be racing with a modified version of their 004 supercar. Glickenhaus emphasized, “We will return to the ‘Ring one day because we believe in showcasing what we sell.
